5 Collabs That Would End Golf’s Corny Problem
Golf is notorious for lagging behind the times in terms of everything from social inclusivity to clubhouse architecture to sustainability, so it comes as no surprise that brand collaborations—currently symbolic of all that is young and hip—were nonexistent in the golf world until about 2017, when Erica and Stephen Malbon started Malbon Golf, a clothing brand that has released collections in partnership with industry titans like Nike, New Balance, and FootJoy. Since then, Palace and Adidas Golf joined forces to create a line of neon golfwear, Extra Butter and Adidas Golf released a Happy Gilmore inspired collection, and Drake even got involved, making a set of overpriced pieces with Nike. These collaborations are fun and pop a much needed upper into golf style, but their groundbreaking-ness is limited in that each collab features mostly masculine pieces, so as usual, golf femmes have to wait for the trickledown. Here are a few collaborations we’d love to see happen, as long as they include an equal number of masc and femme pieces…
FootJoy x Palace
Windbreakers, caps, buckets, and beanies in the classic beige, navy, and black, please.Titleist x Malbon
It’s inevitable so let’s get on with it.
PING x Staud
Only a woman-owned clothing brand would be worthy of working with golf’s most pro-woman equipment manufacturer. Something similar to what they did with New Balance.TaylorMade x Metalwood
It’s only right that the brand named after the very club TaylorMade invented partners with the legendary equipment maker. Clothes, towels, and, of course, headcovers would be ideal.
Toro x Carhartt
Imagine how cute the greenskeeper at your local muni would look in a crewneck from this collab. You could get one too and then you guys would be twins.
